First days in New Amsterdam

We have started doing some warm-up historical fiction writing as part of our New Amsterdam study!

Liefste moeder,

Today it was so interesting because I saw store that was name beaver hats. And I look[ed] at the glass window and I saw a man and a woman making a beautiful hats. Then when my eye stopped looking at hats I went on walking to the big tree to have lunch. When I sat down I saw people trading thinks and I also saw boys play. Then when I was done eating at the big tree I went to play with my friend Evelyn. We played at the bowling green we had a good time. Then when we were done playing bowling we said bye and Evelyn went home, but not me. I went on looking for good things to see.
